ProofOkay

Proof approval software

Proof approval software for anything that gets printed

Send proofs your customers can zoom into, checked for print before they approve.

ProofOkay is artwork approval for print shops, sign shops and designers. Upload the file, enter its final print size and send the link. Your customer opens the real file on a phone or a computer, zooms in as far as they like, and approves it or asks for changes. No account to make.

$49 a month for your whole shop. Unlimited users and proofs. 14 days free.

A customer's proof page: a cafe's grand opening banner they can zoom into, with Approve, Approve with changes and Request changes beside it
The banner zoomed in on its fine print: a line too small to read at full view, sharp and readable

Your customer sees the fine print before it's printed

A phone screen shows an 8 foot banner about as big as a business card. The line with the date, the address or the phone number is where mistakes hide, and it's too small to read in a flattened preview.

ProofOkay turns the native file into a zoomable preview: PDF, Illustrator saved as PDF compatible, EPS, Photoshop with Maximize Compatibility, and TIFF. Your customer zooms in and the small print stays sharp. The original file stays attached to download.

A print check at the final size

When you upload a proof, ProofOkay checks the file at the size it will print and shows you and your customer what it found, before anyone approves it.

  • Right size

The file matches the final size you entered.

  • Sharp at this size

Images have enough resolution for how big they'll print.

  • Vector artwork

Vector stays sharp at any size; the check tells you which it is.

  • CMYK or RGB

Screen color is flagged before it prints duller than expected.

  • Bleed

Enough artwork past the cut, or a warning before a white edge shows.

  • Fonts

Fonts that aren't included are flagged before another computer swaps them.

The same proof on a phone: the banner to zoom into, then the customer's answer

An answer you can keep

Your customer chooses Approve, Approve with changes or Request changes. Before approving, they tick the boxes you ask for, such as spelling, size and colors, and type their name.

You get the answer, the boxes they ticked, their name and the time, with the exact version they saw. A new file starts a new version, so an approval always points at the file that was approved.

Every proof, and who it's waiting on

One list shows each proof, its status and whether it's waiting on your customer or on you. Reminders go out on the schedule you set, so a proof doesn't sit unanswered.

  • Native files

PDF, AI, EPS, PSD and TIFF open as a preview your customer can zoom into.

  • 300 MB uploads

Big print files go up in pieces and pick up where they left off.

A link that works on any phone or computer.

  • Reminders

Proofs that wait too long get a reminder, on the schedule you set.

  • New versions

Send a corrected file; the customer answers the version they saw.

Questions

Do my customers need an account? +

No. They open the link you send and answer right there, on a phone or a computer. There's nothing to sign up for and nothing to install.

Which files can my customer zoom into? +

PDF, Illustrator files saved as PDF compatible, EPS, Photoshop files saved with Maximize Compatibility, and TIFF, plus very large JPEG and PNG files. A minute or so after you upload one, it opens as a zoomable preview that stays sharp, even for a full size banner. A PDF with several pages shows its first page. The original file always stays attached to download.

How big a file can I upload? +

Up to 300 MB. Big files go up in pieces, so if the connection drops partway, the upload carries on from where it stopped.

What does the print check look at? +

Whether the file is the size you entered, how sharp its images are at that size, whether it's vector, whether it's set up in CMYK or RGB, whether it has bleed past the cut, and whether its fonts are included. It flags problems; it doesn't change anyone's file. You set the sharpness and bleed you want in Settings.

What does the customer's answer look like? +

They choose Approve, Approve with changes, or Request changes, tick the boxes you ask them to tick before approving (spelling, size, colors, or your own), and type their name. You get the answer, the boxes, the name and the time with that version of the proof.

What does it cost? +

$49 a month for your whole shop: unlimited users and unlimited proofs. You can look around free for 7 days with no card, then add a card to start a 14 day free trial. The card isn't charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel from Billing any time.
